One day left to go...
In preparation for my
early departure time, as well as the ultimate 180 degree spin of my internal clock (SE Asia is 12 hours ahead,) I woke at the cheery hour of 4am this morning.
4am is a time of clumsiness for me. Everything seems to have taken on different proportions as my feet and arms smash into things I would otherwise pass without incident. However, this hour is also a time of clarity. As I stood, half awake, running myself a basin of hot water to shave with, I realized that if Thai people use
bottled water to brush their teeth with, I should probably some extra care while shaving. And my mind was flipping through the mental index card list of items I need to pack today so that I may be ready to just pluck my two backpacks as I head off to the airport in less than 24 hours from now.
On the top of my "to do" list today is to attempt to finish work on a map image which will be used for the
Keith's Travels front web page. I plan to plot out my route and show markers for each city I visited, with clickable links which take you to the travelog entry for that specific location. If I don't finish it today, I'll make the final touches during my 17 hour flight to Bangkok.
Otherwise, I do believe I'm ready for my journey. Or at least I've properly psyched myself up for it.
Then again, it may just be the
fog of the early morning has taken over my brain.
