Keith's Travelog
03 March, 2006
  From the other side...
After some 54 hours of no sleep, I finally laid my head at 10pm last night in Bangkok. What a long "trip".

I am staying at the New Siam Guest house. Dormitory would be a better name for it. Basically, it's a cubicle with a bed. There are shared showers and sinks at the two ends of the hallway on each floor. The restaurant does not belie the spartan nature of the guest rooms, much to my chagrin. And fortunately, the food is pretty great (from my limited experience, so far.)

I am itching to actually go sightseeing, but wanted to upload the fruits of my labor during the 17 hour non-stop flight. So the main web page is now up, with a blank map ready to fill with lines and dots.

As I make travelog entries, I plan to update the map with red dots on the map which can be clicked on to jump to the corresponding entry. Sadly, today's entry is without photos, as I have not started my sightseeing. I am simply trying to "wake up". I should be on again tonight or tomorrow with some stories to tell.

In March of 2005, I visited Vietnam for two weeks with two friends. I fell in love with the the country, it's people and the culture. I decided I would return to teach English if I could. By the end of 2005, I had left my job of 12 years, sold my home and most of my belongings. Finally, on March 1st, 2006 I left for a 3 month trip which ended in Vietnam, where I now live. However, my travels didn't end there...
